The moment when TIME plays "Statue"...
He was at the verge of discovering something. His initial period of formulating the thought process, his primeval years of research and his dogged perseverance were finally about to culminate at a point beyond which there was no looking back. He will have written an equation and modeled a system that could break the time-space continuum. Albert Einstein’s dream was about to blossom into reality.
There was a knock on the door, a familiar voice, a voice that he had not heard for years, a face that he had been yearning to see all through his childhood. There she was standing in his room with a quizzical glance and sad stare as if telling him that he dint classify under her category of "normal" people. She had always taunted him on being a nerd drowned by books. He had never been able to have a conversation with her that lasted for more than 2 minutes. But even after all these years he was still enthralled by her sight and charmed by her child like voice. It was a magic that had never failed to bewitch him.
"Everything happens in accordance to some rule or a logical constraint" was the concept he truly believed in. Being a scientist himself, he had always searched for reasons, for answers to every problem, for action underlined by a thought process that was provoked by pure logic. But she defied everything. To him she was a mystery that he couldn't fathom and he hated to let it be that way. If he were to tell her that he was about to formulate an equation that could create a time machine with which we can travel to the past, she would have merely tilted her head and said "Why would anyone want to do that?” All that mattered to her was the present, this moment and nothing else.
But today her sadness seemed to tell him something more. With a dolorous smile that marked her face as she spoke, she said "the doctor said what he suspected was indeed true. I guess I won’t be here long enough to see you win a Nobel Prize..."
He dropped his pen, as if never to pick it up again. He spent his every waking moment from then on in her company. He took her to places where they had spent most of their time as kids, he made her laugh so hard that she had tears in her eyes, he made sure she never had to regret the sickness that had come over her.
An year later
He had stopped all his research on finding a way to get around time. It dint matter to him anymore. He had finally understood what she meant by living a life rather than being forever on a quest for answers. What is time? What is a second, a minute, an hour? Why do we quantify life? Those questions never again rang in his brain...

Hooooly cow!!!!... I don’t know if I am getting repetitive here… but that does not matter… this was freaking awesome dude. “The moment when time plays – Statue”…Maaaan too good… loooved it.
You just brought out something really beautiful yaar… I loved the way you brought out that you were talking about “ Albert Einstein” in the last line of the first para. Nice.. really well done . People have rarely been able to bring a little sad, quite nicely funny and a thought provoking blog all in one story. You managed to achieve all that … I got to bow to that . The way you brought out the love between them was really amazing.. I mean… he didn’t need to speak to her for long to fall in love and she loved him inspite of him being a nerd or being immersed in books… even though she knew she wouldn’t live long enough what bothered her was the fact that she cant see him get a noble proze.. when its love at play there is no formula eh?
"Everything happens in accordance to some rule or a logical constraint".. I think its totally innate in all of us.. searching for logic, reasons, answers etc.. somethings in life do not have any of that and inspite of that we like that the most.. and we keep asking why... all we need to realize is- “ to hell with reasoning, logic and everything associated with it”.. one can love something/anything/someone/anyone for no logical reason.

Dude the way you said: “ If he were to tell her that he was about to formulate an … she would have merely tilted her head and said "Why would anyone want to do that?” All that mattered to her was the present, this moment and nothing else”. That was really well put.. I can imagine Albert Einstein and a beautiful chick and she just tilting her head without any botheration ..
( like you pointed out).. why is it that love is always more pronounced.. more exhibited.. during the loss or end of anything.. its great that he made her “ actually live” the rest of her life in a great fashion… but it could have been the whole of her life also right… I guess most of us.. realize the worth of anything only during its loss. Finally coming to the ending… a masterpiece... you just made everyone realize… what are we running after.. why are we always saying “ there is no time”.. why the hell do we quantify everything.. Live the moment.. enjoy it when life is calling you..
P.S: I hope Albert Einstein could read this blog.. I am sure he would TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU

wow... "one can love something/anything/someone/anyone for no logical reason." that is sooooooooooo true. it is exactly what i tried to portray
I also agree with the fact that only the loss of something makes us understand the value of it. it a sad statement but unfortunately true. u know when i was writing i could actually picture the scene which made things kinda easier to express
sometimes i do think why life has become a rat race where the fastest rat win the highest amount of money? but then again by questioning that, i will be wasting one precious second of a life that i wanna live....
also i believe that the best words spoken and the best promises kept are the ones made in silence...

yeah dude I could kinda make that out.. I mean the way you went about narrating the entire story… I am sure all those who read this can see the exact picture too.. as for the rat race very very true :)… rightly said… why waste even one precious second over it.. but what people don’t realize is.. even if they win a rat race.. they are still one freakin sad RAT.. can agree with you better on the best words spoke and the best promises kept.. true .. very very true

Hey Anu,
You have beautifully expressed...I loved the way you have brought out the main character 'Albert Einstein' you started as if you are talking about some imaginary person and they in the last line you unveil the suspense…
I must say that this definitely is one of your best blog..
Good Luck.. Keep writing…

hai, anu,I was very glad to see your blog on "The moment when TIME
plays "Statue". I think it is a wonderful way of your research thinking, sometime,I feel due to technological growth, this is somewhat achieved as I converse with you, though it is physically impossible!!!!as the saying goes "Time and Tides waits for no man". I enjoyed your topic and theme. I think every thing happens only for logical reasons.

"they are still one freakin sad RAT"... that was funny :-)
@abhi
hey the story was actually not abt albert einstein or any of his life incidents. this is an imaginary story.... i had incorporated Albert Einstein to show that this guy was abt to break the continuum that even Einstein could not solve
@cm-chap
thanks dude... glad u liked it :-)

ARE U MY ALTER EGO??? ;)
Why do we quantify life? why do we run behind reasons? why is this quest to know everything so supreme?
What we do not realise is at the end of it all, we lose on enjoying those small insane moments:) thats what life's all about.appreciating things around you, the small and the stupid ones.
Great work.. i loved it more because i believe in it :)great work dude..

Hey an,
I dont want to sound like a broken record player but each and every blog of urs is better than the previous one and i am forced to say this : "This has to be ur best blog and one of the all time best blogs ever written". Awesome dude. And if it just took you 40 mins to craft such a masterpiece ,u are something else. I wud recommend you considering a full time writing profession.Easily better than most of the crap people write out there.
This blog shud be an ideal lesson for all software engineers who stay late in the night and work like theres no tomorrow and abandon their personal lives and they realise their mistake only when they are past 40. Too late 4 a change.
Atleast after reading this, i hope to see some change in their attitude towards life.
Awesome dude.. Keep it up.

So shall we regret that we don't have a time machine.....or shall we say that "Oh what a generous guy"......or shall we praise Anu for the ways she has put it all together........really confusing.....for me.......it is all about passion.....what ever these scientists do.....they do with all there heart......be it research or making someone happy....I wish, I were able to do things with atleast 1% ot their passion......for now lets get over the assignments...get over with exams....finally MS.....get a decent job...become filthy reach.....forget abt what goes back in our country.....may be then we will realise .....Ohh...If we had a time machine......!
