Life goes on...

The Sunny road trails along
As the lonely soldier trudges on
Sometimes a friend, at times a foe
At every turn, there awaits a man

Someone in whom he can confide
Someone in whom he can seek respite
Someone who makes him understand loneliness
Someone who teaches him how to share

So many strangers walk in and walk out
It makes you wonder how we recognize one another
it is just as if the waves of the sea knew each other
just when one wave ends the other one begins

Time eludes the young and throttles the old
It soothes the pain of the bygones and heals the loss of the yore
but has an uncanny ability to flit right through your hands
the more you try to hold on .

In retrospection...
Fond memories, precious moments,
A smile, a word, a lost picture is all that lingers
But the thought, the soul, the energy, shines and exudes
through all those people life brings in your way

As the narrow road trails along
New surprises, new experiences are showered upon
As The lonely soldier marches on
There are still many more battles to win, life goes on...

Hey I am the first one to comment:-)

    Wow man!!Tats fantastic!!
The feelings that a person experiences when he embarks on a new journey for his new opportunity away from his family/friends has been neatly portrayed in dis poem.

"So many strangers walk in and walk out
It makes you wonder how we recognize one another
it is just as if the waves of the sea knew each other
just when one wave ends the other one begins"

Exactly!! Thats how it goes. Memories linger and we are left with that alone when taking new roads and step inside a new world.

    Awesome!! Keep comin!!

Ok lady you just beat my claim of Wordsworth as the best poet !!!! A.W.E.S.O.M.E. I just cant get over a lot of the lines to quote a few.. “it is just as if the waves of the sea knew each other
just when one wave ends the other one begins”

Wooow how did u even think of that?? Simply amazing… even the time thingy about soothing the pain of bygones and healing the loss of the yore… I have to give it to you buddy!!!

As for the time flitting right through the hands.. I am reminded of a saying somewhere… they say its like having your hand full of sand and trying to press it.. beyond a certain point it just passes through your hand… Loved the last two para's too.. infact i dont know which one is the best.. they are all great... and hey I can see the inspiration for this post.. good luck for " new surprises and new experiences" in US... Good luck soldier :).. one thing is for sure.. you are all prepared for the battle :)

    updated!

    @sense in nonsense
of course everyone understands that it is we who go not the road... but this is poetry where the scenarios are portrayed in an absract way. it is left to the readers to decipher the intent of the author.
